week 13 group reflection
Our Progress:
Week 1:Sorting out our theme,topic
Week 2: Sorting out what we have to do and what we need for it
Week 3:Clarifying the focus of our group, distributing tasks,
Week 4:guiding questions on our rooftop garden
week 5:specifying group tasks
Week 6:changing the project to current "fence garden"project, made questions for survey
week 7:discussing the questions of the survey w/ our teacher,Mr Goh
week 8:Darren,brought the materials that Mr Goh suggested we use for the prototype plants and we worked out how to use them effectively
week 9:tabulated sources of info, worked out details of the prototype plants(e.g exact dimensions of the cut on the 1.5 litre bottle
week 10:summarized the description of our product so as to know exactly what to do,hung the prototype plants on a fence in the school
week 11:careful tending and monitoring of the plants over the week and weeks to come, discussing the progress of the plants w/ Mr Goh
week 12:continued tending(weeding, watering) the plants, summarised the progress of the plants and discussed w/ teacher

Making use of unused space for agriculture using recycled materials
When making our prototype of Lady's finger plant, first we planted the lady's finger seeds to allow it to germinate. Once it germinates, we first get recycled 1Litre water bottles (Mineral bottles etc.) Then, we cut one portion of the front and back of the water bottle. Use a cloth where water can seep out and cover one side of the cut sides to allow excess water to seep through. Then, add soil and plant your plant inside. Then, we used wires to tie the plant to a fence, as lady's finger is a climbing plant, the lady's finger plant will grow and “climb” up the fence. And in addition, the fence is an unused space, where the plants can “climb” up in peace, without getting disturbed.

Facts
What I know about surveys
They are used to find out how people feel about the product.
Ideas
What I think about surveys
I think that our survey should work.
Learning Issues
What I found out in the survey
We have to make it so that more people are aware of this.
Action Plan
What I can do after the survey
I can take into consideration what suggestions the people gave and implement them.
What do we want to do next?
Now, we are going to make our own aeroponics to plant plants.
Week 5 Reflection
What have we done so far?
We have found out the best way to plant plants to reduce oxygen level in the school is to plant green vegetables in the rooftop using aeroponics.
What have we learnt?
We have learnt that aeroponics is used to grow plants to save on the cost as aeroponics do not need soil. That way, we can grow healthier and cleaner plants without the use of soil.

Week 5 reflection
Week 5 Reflection
Darren is now doing the research on aerophonics and is now applying it to the worksheet.
Dino and I am doing the managing of the blog...
SHOULD I MAKE DINO ADMIN???
Week one reflection
Think about the project tasks that you have done during the week, and write down your thoughts.
Write at least 4 sentences for every question.
Facts
What I know
I know that global warming is a slow, harmful threat to the Earth. It can kill all living things if nothing is done to stop it in a few hundred years. It takes a lot of effort to undo the done. But it is not impossible.
Ideas
What I think
We have to lower the temperature of the Earth to prevent high temperatures from killing all living things in a few hundred years. So, we have to lower the carbon dioxide level on Earth. Or, We can increase oxygen level on Earth.
Learning Issues
What I want to find out
I want to find out exactly how many plants does it take to lower the temperature of the school by one minute. I also want to find out the exact time global warming will destroy the Earth.
Action Plan
What I can do
Lowering the temperature will slow down the effect of global warming on Earth. Then, we can repair the damage caused on the Earth.
Group Name:Global Warming Defense Team
Title of Project:Going Green Indoors
Project Focus:Growing Plants On Rooftops To Lower Temperature
(A) The Guiding Questions that our group has selected to do research on are:
(1) What type of plants can grow fast?
(2) How long and big will our garden be?
(3) How much space will it take up?
(4) Can the earthworms survive in such hot temperatures?
(B) The areas that our group will be doing research into are:
(1) How many plants are needed to lower the temperature by 1 degree celsius?
(2) Is vegetable a good choice of plants?
(3) Will the vegetables be eaten by animals?
(4) Will the vegetables be edible after growing?
(C) Our Progress, so far, is as follows:
We are now finding the perfect vegetables to grow and to see if the vegetables are edible.
(D) The product that we are thinking of creating is as follows: Our very own natural organic garden in the school rooftop
Week 2 reflection
Let’s answer the questions in sequence.
What is our Topic?
Lowering temperatures.
(2) What do I already know about the topic?
Carbon dioxide traps the heat in the school. To get rid of the heat, we first have to get rid of all the carbon dioxide.
(3) What are the questions I want to ask about this Topic?
What type of plant takes in the most carbon dioxide? Are there any other ways to get rid of carbon dioxide?
(4) What are the subjects/skills I can make use of?
Plants, brainstorming, carbon dioxide.
(5) Where can I go to find information for our project?
Internet, books, teachers
(6) What do I want to prepare to tell others about our project?
How to do it, where to search. where to get the materials etc.

Week 3 reflection
Some questions that are still going around in my head…
How are we going to make the plants grow healthy and fast?
3 things I learned…
I've learnt that
we can actually
invent something that can
sell. And I learnt the it is important to go green.
I also learning the vegetables are easier and faster to grow compared to other plants.
Ideas that I agree with…
I agree with saving the Earth by converting renewable resources to get electricity. I also agree with the idea to grow plants on the roof to lower the temperature of the school and we can even eat or sell the vegetables.

Week 4 Reflection
Another thing we have to think of is what kind of plants to plant at the rooftop and who is going to tend the plants after we leave the school?
